 With more than 15 years of experience in the retail, wholesale, uniform and manufacturing sectors of the apparel industry, Jerry Wheeler brings a unique perspective to sustainability consulting. His extensive textile and apparel industry knowledge and intimacy with fashion and uniform apparel manufacturing and sales has driven the development of innovative insights, particularly in the areas of supply chain management, product development and marketing. As founder and principal of ecoCentric, he is dedicated to helping companies increase transparency, streamline processes and develop healthy business practices—with the ultimate goal of reducing environmental impact, improving social responsibility and affecting a positive impact on the integrated bottom line. Prior to founding ecoCentric, Jerry was a co-founder of the SRC Group, Inc. In his role as President he was responsible for the management of the organization’s product design and development, supply chain management, sustainability initiatives, strategic partnerships and more. During his five-year tenure at SRC, Jerry helped the company to identify and initiate a corporate sustainability strategy—including the improvement of supply chain transparency, the implementation of organic cotton and other sustainable textiles and the development of eco-friendly, cost-effective textile sources to support these initiatives. While developing sustainability strategies for SRC, Jerry became a member of the Organic Exchange. As an active member and ambassador, he is dedicated to facilitating the acceptance of organic cotton and the development of sustainable, transparent business practices. Combined with his education and business experience, Jerry’s dedication to learning is lifelong. Jerry recently received an executive degree in sustainable management from The Presidio School of Management in San Francisco, CA. |
